I was introduced to origami as a child by a teacher who hoped it would help me focus my restless energy in class. It quickly became something much more — a process and practice that centres me and cultivates patience in me. I can now sit for hours folding, completely in the zone. Of all the forms and techniques, I’m most drawn to tessellations. Their repetitive patterns create a steady rhythm that help me focus and quiet my mind. As for medium, I especially enjoy working with tissue foil, shadow fold, and biotope papers for their texture and flexibility.
